BYD Aims To Replace London’s Famous Buses With Its 400-mile BD11 Electric Double-decker Bus
Chinese company, BYD, aims to replace London’s famous double-decker buses with its 400-mile EV BD11.
BD11 was launched on Wednesday at the London Bus Museum, with journalists, transport industry leaders in attendance.
Boasting high levels of comfort, the 10.9m-long ultra-modern BYD BD11 can accommodate up to 90 passengers.
It comes with 532kWh battery capacity that allows a range of more than 640-km (400 miles) per charge.
BYD already have 1,800 eBuses operating on UK roads, with its fleet now racking up more than 18 million miles.

Thanks to its “market-leading” 532kWh battery capacity featuring BYD’s own Blade technology, the BD11 has a maximum range of more than 640 kilometers (400 miles) per charge.
The electric range of BYD’s BD11 electric double-decker bus is quite impressive as most London buses travel between 100 and 200 miles a day, according to local report.
In addition, the BYD BD11 electric double-decker boasts an equally massive maximum charging speed of 500kW, which allows it to be fully recharged in less than two hours.
The launch of BD11 comes 11 years after BYD first launched a bus in the UK. BYD claims to already have 1,800 eBuses operating on UK roads, with its fleet now racking up more than 18 million miles (about 29 million km) in service.
