The base vehicle is the commercial three-wheelers, popularly known as Keke Maruwa and Keke NAPEP.

But unlike the three (3) 4.00.8 sized tyres affixed to commercial Kekes, this vehicle rides on the 4 tyres designed for cars.

Other modifications done to the tricycle includes a round headlights like those found on off-roading vehicles like Jeep.

If FRSC consider the open-top 4-wheeler roadworthy, the driver will be able to reach top speed of 19.4 m/s.

A Keke Maruwa-based customized open-top, 2-seater vehicle has been spotted in the Northern part of Nigeria and its unique design was enough to attract every road user’s attention.

This two-seater vehicle is unlike the commercial three-wheelers that we normally see on the Nigerian road, as it boasts several unique features, including steering wheel instead of the handlebar controls.

The base vehicle is the commercial three-wheelers, popularly known as Keke Maruwa and Keke NAPEP. But unlike the three (3) 4.00.8 sized tyres affixed to commercial Kekes, this ‘former tricycle’ now rides on 4 tyres designed for cars.

Other modifications done to the vehicle includes two buckets seats installed where the passenger bench seat are normally found in the base vehicle, as well as round headlights like those found on off-roading vehicles like Jeep.

Autojosh guess the powertrain remains the same, so this customized vehicle likely uses a 4 Stroke liquid-cooled engine that produces 8.7 horsepower (6.5KW).

If the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) consider this open-top Keke-based 4-wheeler roadworthy, the driver will be able to reach top speed of 50 – 70Km/h (13.9 – 19.4 m/s).
