Nigerian Customs Service Rapid Response Squad HQ seizes 47 smuggled brand new vehicles with DPV of ₦2.4 billion.

Coordinator of the anti-smuggling Unit revealed that the government is losing so much money much to smuggling activities.

The Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized vehicles is an amount that is expected to go into the government’s purse.

Notes that 36 of the seized vehicles have been forfeited to the FG while the remaining is still under investigation.





Vowed to frustrate the activities of the smugglers whom he said are trying to bring down the economy of the country.

The Nigerian Customs Service Rapid Response Squad Headquarters (HQ) has vowed not to relent in its fight against smuggling of goods into the country following the seizure of over forty-seven (47) smuggled brand new vehicles.

The activities of the Nigerian Customs Service Rapid Response Squad Headquarters (HQ) covers the North Central, North East and West part of the Nigeria.

Speaking during his visit to the Karu warehouse of NCS in Abuja, the Coordinator of Rapid Response Squad, Assistant Comptroller Jack Okpabi, said the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seized vehicles amounted to over ₦2.4 Billion Naira — an amount that is expected to go into the government’s purse.

Paraded in a short clip posted on the Nigerian Customs Service Facebook and Twitter pages are dozens of seized smuggled brand new cars, including Toyota Hilux pickup trucks.





The Assistant Comptroller of the anti-smuggling unit noted 36 of the seized vehicles have been forfeited to the Federal Government while the remaining is still under investigation.

While commending his team, the Coordinator revealed that the government is losing so much money to smuggling activities. He vowed to frustrate the activities of the smugglers whom he said are trying to bring down the economy of the country.
