FAAN Launches Electric Transit Services at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport In Abuja.

The initiative is developed in partnership with Possible Electric Mobility and Zeut Energies.

Ten (10) electric buses and twenty (20) electric sedans were launched to support airport activities.

The initiative introduces electric vehicles for seamless passenger and staff mobility to and from the airport.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an electric shuttle service at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja, as part of efforts to transition to renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.

The project was commissioned on Friday (today) by FAAN’s Board Chairperson, Abdullahi Ganduje, alongside the MD and CEO of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, representatives of the partner firms, airport stakeholders and other senior officials.

Speaking at the event, Ganduje and Kuku appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo and the development partners for their continued support.

The initiative, developed in partnership with Possible Electric Mobility and Zeut Energies, positions FAAN as a trailblazer in sustainable aviation infrastructure.

“This initiative introduces electric vehicles for seamless passenger and staff mobility to and from the airport, significantly cutting carbon emissions and aligning with global green energy standards,” FAAN said in a statement.

Ten (10) electric buses and twenty (20) electric sedans were launched at the event to support airport activities. Following the commissioning, Ganduje and Kuku inspected the electric buses and sedans to examine their advanced features firsthand.
