European aircraft maker, Airbus , has just released a fascinating 2-minute video showing the assembly of an A330-900 jetliner, from the delivery of components all the way through to fitting the fuselage together,spray-painting its livery, and finally to flight.
The mesmerising video, filmed at the plane manufacturer’s plant in Toulouse, France, starts with the parts being unloaded from a whale-shaped cargo plane called Airbus Beluga 3.
The A330-900 plane in the video, named Aapravasi Ghat, after a Mauritian UNESCO World Heritage site, has now been handed over to Air Mauritius.
It features a two-class cabin with 28 business class seats and 260 economy class seats. Power comes from the latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.
The A330 currently has an order book of more than 1,700 aircraft from 120 customers.
