Federal Ministry Of Transportation Visits LAMATA On Study Tour
Federal Ministry of Transportation visits the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) on study tour.
During the visit, it was briefed about the agency’s modus operandi, partnership models as well as reform initiatives being implemented.
LAMATA also revealed plans to introduce more electric vehicles and CNG buses to various bus routes across the state.
Thursday’s study study tour to LAMATA is part of Federal Government’s effort to restart its Mass Transportation scheme.
Officers from the Department of Road Transport and Mass Transit Administration of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Marine and Blue Economy, on Thursday visited the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to understudy the system behind its renowned bus transportation system.
The delegates, led by Mr. Aepgha Monday and Mr Izedonmi Fidelis, were received by Dr. Kemi Amure, the Head of Bus Services, on behalf of the Managing Director of LAMATA, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo.
During the visit, Amure briefed them about the agency’s modus operandi, partnership models as well as reform initiatives being implemented, including the Bus Reform Initiative (BRI), cleaner energy policies and plans to introduce more electric vehicles and CNG buses to various bus routes across the state.
They were also given a guided tour of LAMATA’S ITS infrastructure, a dashboard which shows the positions of all the buses under the First and Last Mile scheme. The visit is part of Federal Government’s effort to restart its Mass Transportation scheme.
