Ferrari Will Break A Model For The First Time In Its History During Euro NCAP Testing
Until now, Ferrari has kept its expensive supercars away from Euro NCAP testing. Customers trusted the reputation of the brand, and it was too expensive to destroy it. But after the launch of the Luce electric car, Ferrari is changing its rules. More cars will undergo serious testing – they will be driven into the wall, reports 01 Net.
In order for Euro NCAP to carry out a complete testing program, at least four cars are needed, and just one new Ferrari Luce costs more than half a million euros. Therefore, the total cost for the Ferrari will be around two million euros if the selling price is included. Luce will thus become the most expensive car that has been tested.
Luce is an electric car with five doors and five seats. It is intended for everyday use. The car even has Isofix mounts for child seats in the back seat. When wealthy parents drive their kids to school (in theory, of course), crash protection and good safety ratings suddenly become very important. It’s not just about surviving the crash itself. Euro NCAP will scrutinize the battery pack in particular. It will test whether the huge battery pack will ignite to make it safe for passengers and rescuers.
