Surprisingly, Ferrari’s Controversial Luce EV Has Been Sold Out
The Ferrari Luce is sparking controversy due to its radical design and electric powertrain. Despite this, the model has already sold out, proving the automaker’s bold shift is meeting strong market demand.
Ferrari has exceeded its annual sales targets two months early, driven by strong demand for its new electric vehicle, the Luce, particularly in China. While production figures remain undisclosed, the company expects to share more details on manufacturing and deposits during Thursday’s second-quarter earnings call. Despite backlash over its shift toward electrification, the Luce’s swift sell-out demonstrates the brand’s enduring appeal.
Despite the criticism directed at the vehicle, Ferrari maintains that there is significant interest in the new electric model, particularly among a new client base. Following the vehicle’s debut, CEO Benedetto Vigna addressed the backlash by confirming that the company had already secured bank deposits for the car.
Earlier this month, Ferrari’s global marketing director, Emanuele Carando, noted that the company was taken aback by the intensity of the public response. However, he expressed satisfaction with the situation, characterizing the vocal feedback as a reflection of the profound passion consumers hold for the brand.
