The Federal Road Safety Corps’ Lagos State Command paid visit to road accident victims on Monday as part of events commemorating the 2021 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
To commemorate the day, the team from the Ikorodu unit paid visit to the General Hospital in the Ikorodu area of the state and donated some supplies to the patients.
The team was welcomed by the Director of the health facility, Taiwo Hassan, according to statement headed ‘FRSC Team Visits Road Accident Victims in General Hospital Ikorodu.’
“The road is not the sole thing that causes accidents,” Hassan stated during the tour.

Drivers must also be warned about ingesting anything that may cause blurred vision or impair their attentiveness while driving.

“Our hospital’s Mental Health Committee recently visited Ikorodu’s motor parks to teach drivers about substance abuse, drunk driving, and other issues.

Such advocacy should be replicated by the FRSC in all of its units.”

In his remarks, the FRSC Commander, Ikorodu Unit Command, Olawale Kareem, explained that the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is observed every year on the third Sunday in November.

“The FRSC has set aside one week before Remembrance Day to thank all emergency service providers for their support,” he stated.

“The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the emotional and economic devastation caused by road disasters, as well as to plot out measures for stemming the flow across the country.”
