Honda Considering A Successor To Its “e” Electric Hatchback
According to British media, Honda is considering a successor to its “e” electric hatchback. It is likely to be based on the 2023 Sustaina-C concept.
Speaking at CES in Las Vegas (where the Honda 0 SUV and 0 Saloon prototypes were unveiled), Honda’s global head of electrification business development, Katsushi Inoue, said the brand is aware of the growing need for more affordable electric cars. He also confirmed that the 0 Series platform will support anything smaller than a Civic-sized car.
“We are thinking about it far beyond the 0 Series,” he said. “We are in the development phase; we understand that a new market is coming. The market is there; the 0 Series cannot be that small, so we will take care of the main market first. In the future, we will talk about smaller vehicles; we will have to develop a platform of a different size.”
Sustaina-C concept To Pave Way

Shown at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, the Honda Sustaina-C concept is a small car that the Japanese manufacturer said would allow it to “overcome constraints on resource availability.” To further enhance its green credentials, it had a small electric bike in the trunk.
It’s a vision of a small, retro-styled EV that’s inspired by the old Honda City and addresses sustainability with a recyclable acrylic body.
The concept highlights the potential for innovative materials and unique design aesthetics while reducing CO2 emissions from the manufacturing process. This is one way Honda plans to achieve carbon neutrality across all of its products and operations by 2050.
In addition to developing the 0 Series, Honda also has EV platforms and models built for the Japanese or Chinese markets. Of the cars confirmed under the 0 Series plan by 2030, an SUV and a sedan will be the first to hit the market.
