The African Development Bank (AfDB) Keen To Work With LAMATA to Develop The 60-km Purple Rail Line.
The LRMT Purple Line is a 60-kilometre line from the Redemption Camp in Ogun State to Ojo in Lagos State.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has promised to work with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to develop the proposed 60-kilometer Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Purple rail line.
AfDB Vice President, Private Sector Infrastructure and Industrialisation, Mr. Solomon Quaynor gave the assurance while on a visit to LAMATA, ahead of a visit of the technical team to assess the Purple line on Thursday.
The Bank also showed interest in partnering with LAMATA to expand the capacity of the existing Blue Line and Red Line rail system, according to a statement issued by LAMATA.

During the visit, the delegation toured the LRMT Blue Line and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Blue Line rail system.
Thursday’s visit by the AfDB team was to further discuss collaboration on the project and other lines outlined in the Lagos Strategic Transport Masterplan (STMP)
“This visit signifies a significant step forward in securing funding and expertise for the ambitious rail projects envisioned for Lagos, to further enhance the city’s transportation infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its residents.”

“The visit follows a recent pitch for investment on 60-kilometre Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Purple Line at the African Development Bank forum in Morocco, where the Lagos delegation was led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.”
The Purple Line is a 60-kilometre line from the Redemption Camp in Ogun State to Ojo in Lagos State. It is designed to run through Redemption Camp, Mowe, Long Bridge, Isheri, Toll Gate, Omole, Ogba, Agege, Iyana Ipaja, Isheri Osun, Igando, Iba, Estate, LASU, Okokomaiko and Ojo.
