Hyundai Launches A Weird Looking Limited-Run Kona EV

This Hyundai Kona may look like a very basic version, but it is not. It is a more adventurous Kona which will be a limited-run special edition electric model.
In the category ‘not very relevant, but still nice’ we present you this Hyundai Kona Mauna Loa. Where does that name come from? Well, that’s a volcano in Hawaii. It’s the largest active volcano in the world. Is this a special Kona for Hawaii? No, it’s a limited edition for the Japanese market. Now, Hawaii is relatively ‘close’ to that, but it’s still striking.
Striking is the right word to describe this Kona Electric, because it is impossible to miss with its nose hung full of dark (secretly sprayed) plastic. The dark accents all around are impossible to miss. You would almost think that it is an intensely ‘bare’ version because so much of the car is not sprayed in the special paint colour called Mirage Green. However, the black roof racks and special black wheels already reveal that this is a specially dressed Kona. The seats are also upholstered in sage green coloured leather, which contrasts nicely with the rubber floor mats and trunk mats. According to Hyundai, it should symbolize a balance between city life and off-road adventures. Only 30 copies will be produced, all for the Japanese market.
