See How Lagos Expressway Sweepers Dumped Their Uniforms In Protest (VIDEO)

The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Expressway Sweepers have embarked on strike. They recently protested against the three months non-payment of their salaries.
In a video posted on Twitter, the sweepers were seen removing their uniforms and dumping them on the floor. They said they got fed up and that the government should retrieve their uniforms.
According to them, they worked all through the lockdown period and are yet to receive payment for the work done. Instead of paying them, the Government decided to sack them.
The protests by the street sweepers took place at Marina Lagos last Sunday.

Recall that the Lagos State Waste Management Authority recently announced the immediate termination of all street-sweeping briefs awarded to some companies found involved in practices violating their contracts.
However, one of the former Lagos State Waste Management (LAWMA) Contractors, has apologized to the Lagos State Governor.
Mrs Ola Williams tendered an apology to Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the protests carried out by Expressway Sweepers at Marina Lagos last Sunday.
Williams who spoke from her sickbed in a hospital in Lagos said she meant no evil with the protest.
She added that her presence during the protest was majorly to persuade the protesters who were demanding for salary payment.
“I want to plead with the governor to please forgive me over the last protest by the Expressway Sweepers in Marina. He should please ignore those carrying false rumour about me. I will never desecrate the office of His Excellency, the governor of Lagos State. The rumour mongers are aiming at destabilizing our great party.
