Marc Philipp Gemballa Begins Production Of Porsche 911 Turbo S-based MARSIEN Offroad Supercar
Marc Philipp Gemballa begins production of Porsche 911 Turbo S-based MARSIEN offroad supercar.
Limited to just 40 units, the on- and off-road-ready supercar was sold out at launch despite the starting price of $583,000 USD.
The Germany-based company said it is being delivered to clients in more than sixteen countries around the globe.
Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH has announced the start of series production of the limited-edition, 992-gen Porsche 911 Turbo S-based MARSIEN supercar, nearly three years after its unveiling in 2021.
Designed by French Porsche
aficionado Alan Derosier, the Mersien dubbed the “Ultimate Adventure Sportscar” takes inspiration from rally version of the Porsche 959 supercar of the late 1980s.
It packs a carbon fiber exterior components and bespoke taillight and rides on Michelin Ultra High Performance (UHP) tyres for on road use.
To go off-road, the Mersien needs to be kitted on All Terrain tyres. For off-roading adventure, the height of the vehicle can be raised up to an overall ground clearance of 250 mm by the touch of a button.
Like most production vehicles, the MARSIEN underwent extensive testing across diverse terrains, including the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife and the glaciers of Scandinavia.
The team also took the car to the scorching Al-Faya desert in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the name MARSIEN was born – “We felt like we were on Mars,” Marc Philipp Gemballa recalls.
Mersien powered by a 3.7-liter boxer engine from the 911 Turbo S, but upgraded by Ruf Automobile to deliver 750 hp and 685 lb-ft of torque – though an optional upgrade pushes this to 830 hp.
It can accelerate from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).
Limited to just 40 units, the on- and off-road-ready supercar was sold out at launch despite the starting price of $583,000. The Germany-based company said it is being delivered to clients in more than sixteen countries around the globe.
