NADDC Sets Up Technical Committee On Electric Vehicle Development Plan For Nigeria

NADDC boss Jelani sets up Technical Committee On Electric Vehicle Development Plan For Plan (EVDP) for Nigeria.
It is aimed at realizing full scale local production of multiple brands of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Nigeria.
Also, it will enable cost effective ownership to be supported by establishing an effective charging infrastructure.
The committee includes EV and Renewable Energy experts from automotive sector, universities and polytechnics.
The NADDC boss had earlier announced his agency’s plan to increase the capacity of EV production in the country.
The Director General of NADDC Boss made this known at the just concluded Nigeria Energy Summit II.
The Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Jelani Aliyu, chairs the Technical Committee Meeting of the NADDC Electric Vehicle Development Plan (EVDP) for Nigeria.
The five day meeting is aimed at drawing up a comprehensive development plan for Vehicle Electrification in Nigeria, towards the realization of full scale local production of multiple brands of EVs in Nigeria, enabling their cost effective ownership to be supported by establishing an effective ecosystem of charging infrastructure.

The plan will also ensure that strict regulations are enforced to ensure world standards of safety and durability for all EVs produced in the nation.
The committee includes EV and Renewable Energy experts from government and non – governmental bodies, the automotive sector, universities and polytechnics.

The NADDC Boss made this known at the just concluded Nigeria Energy Summit II, organized by the organized by Germany, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Power, and the European Union.
