Nissan Ambassador And Tennis Star Naomi Osaka Earns ₦14.6b In A Year, Becomes Highest-paid Female Athlete
Nissan Ambassador and Tennis Star Naomi Osaka earns ₦14.6b ($37. 4 million) in a year to become the highest-paid female athlete in history.
Osaka became the Japanese automaker’s ambassador after beating Serena Williams in 2018 US Open final.
As one of the perks of the partnership, she was gifted a Super Silver 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO to drive to practice.

Japanese Tennis star, Naomi Osaka has become the world’s highest-paid female athlete; displacing US rival Serena Williams at the top of the list.
According to Forbes, the two-time Grand Slam champion earned $37. 4 million (₦14.6 billion) from June 1, 2019, to June 1, 2020, from endorsements and prize money.

The earnings surpassed Serena Williams’ $36 million in that span.
Forbes said the twenty-two year old’s total is a one-year record for a female athlete. It toppled the previous mark of $29.7 million set by Maria Sharapova in 2015.

The victory, after becoming the first Japanese woman singles player to ever win a Grand Slam title, forced automaker Nissan to make her a brand ambassador.

As one of the perks of the partnership, she was gifted a Super Silver 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO to drive to practice.
According to a press release about her new car, the automaker said the Nissan GT-R NISMO will allow her to drive “as quickly as legally allowed” to practice.


In addition to getting a free Nissan GT-R NISMO supercar; the automaker will also supply her with its vehicles at her tour destinations during the tennis season.
Nissan introduced the GT-R NISMO for 2015 as the world’s fastest volume production vehicle around Nürburgring Nordschleife with a lap time of 7:08. 679 minutes in 2014 Tokyo Motor Show.
