Nissan Rolls Out Its Next-Generation NissanConnect Infotainment System
Today, Nissan announced the official rollout of its next-generation NissanConnect infotainment system for its vehicles in Europe. The newest version of NissanConnect is already available in North America and is now making its way to European customers too.
The new NissanConnect system is powered by Android Automotive, offering deeper integration with Google and Google’s voice assistant. Native apps, such as Google Maps, are available, and you can download more through Google Play.
The Google Assistant can control certain features, and NissanConnect itself is now capable of controlling the whole lot. If you own one of Nissan’s EVs, the system can now guide you to appropriate charging stations and reduce costs by suggesting economical charging times that take into account the current pricing and local off-peak electricity hours.
NissanConnect offers deeper integration with the phone’s app and allows you to turn on the AC before getting in the vehicle, and the app itself will let you know if you forgot to close a door or window.
European Nissan owners should expect an over-the-air update by the end of this month.
