Over 292,000 Mercedes SUVs, Minivans Recalled Due To Brake Problems

Mercedes-Benz has issued the latest recall for almost 292,300 SUVs and minivans due to a brake issue.
Model-year 2006-12 GL-Class and M-Class SUVs, as well as R-Class minivans are all affected.
Specifically, they include:
2007-09 GL320, 2010-12 GL350, 2007-12 GL450, 2008-12 GL550
2007-09 ML320, 2006-11 ML350, 2010-11 ML450, 2006-07 ML500, 2008-11 ML550, 2007-11 AMG ML63
2007-09 R320, 2006-12 R350, 2006-07 R500, 2008 R550, 2007 AMG R63
Moisture can collect in the brake booster housing unit and cause corrosion, resulting in reduced braking effectiveness or brake failure, increasing the danger of a crash.
Mercedes warns owners not to drive their vehicles until the fix is complete, due to the serious nature of the problem. Dealers will free of charge remove the rubber sleeve, inspect the brake booster, and replace it if necessary.
Mercedes will begin notifying owners on May 27, but anyone with additional questions can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or go to the manufacturer’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
