Porsche reveals specs of its first-ever electric Cayenne SUV ahead of reveal in few weeks.
Equipped with a 11-kWh battery-pack, Cayenne Electric SUV will go 600-km (373 miles) on a single battery charge.
Its 800-volt architecture enables charging from 10-80% in less than 16 minutes, more than 300 km of range in 10 minutes.
From 2026, the Cayenne Electric SUV will be offered with the new ‘Porsche Wireless Charging system’.
Porsche has revealed the specifications and innovative high-voltage technology of its upcoming electric Cayenne SUV, ahead of its World Premiere in few weeks.
Based on an evolution of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) developed in-house, the Cayenne Electric will arrive as Porsche’s second all-electric SUV, after its second-best seller, the Macan.
Equipped with a high-voltage battery-pack with 113 kWh, the production Cayenne Electric SUV will have a range of more than 600 kilometres (373 miles) on a single battery charge.
Camouflaged, near-production prototypes drove more than 350 miles (563 km) on a single battery charge at speed of 70 mph (113 km/h) during highway range test conducted by several independent US journalists.
Porsche says that Cayenne Electric’s 800-volt architecture enables charging from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 16 minutes and more than 300 km of range in just 10 minutes through high-power charging stations.
A key element of the Cayenne Electric’s high-voltage system is its cooling system, which allows the battery to operate in the optimally regardless of the weather, charging power or driving style. Porsche says the dual cooling system equals to that of about 100 large household refrigerators.
“Our innovative high-voltage system combines maximum efficiency with the driving dynamics typical of Porsche”, explains Dr Michael Steiner, a Member of the Executive Board, Research and Development.
In addition, Porsche said starting from 2026, the Cayenne Electric SUV will be offered with the new ‘Porsche Wireless Charging system’ – a 11 kW wireless charging system with a compact one-box floor plate.
According to Porsche, this contactless charging technology, which charges the Cayenne EV when parked over it, achieves a similar efficiency to wired AC charging : up to 90 per cent.
