Rema Finally Picks Up His “Next-Rated” SUV Prize (PHOTOS)

The "Next-Rated" award comes with a brand new car.

Mavin record star, Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has finally picked up his car prize as the Headies Awards 2019 “Next-rated” act. Rema got the Sport Utility Vehicle as the winner of the in that award category.

Last year the ‘Beamer’ crooner was nominated as the ‘Next Rated’ act during last year’s edition of the Headies. He eventually won the category ahead of other nominees like Zlatan, Fireboy DML, Joeboy etc.

The Next-Rated award comes with a brand new car prize.





Since winning the award and the prize attached to it, Rema has been unable to pick it up due to his busy schedule amongst other things.

He showed up at the HipTV Office on Friday to finally pick up his SUV.

The 20-year-old Rema is a singer and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the release of the song “Iron Man”, which appeared on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.

On 19 October 2019, Rema won Next Rated and was nominated for Viewer’s Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies.

On 12 January 2020, he received the Souncity MVP for the best new artist.

On 15 June 2020, Rema was nominated as Best Viewers Choice: International Act on the 2020 BET Awards. He was nominated on the awards alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid, they were the only Nigerian Artistes nominated for the awards edition of 2020.

The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006. The Headies Award for Next-Rated is an award presented at The Headies. It was first presented to Aṣa in 2006. In addition to receiving the award plaque, recipients of the award are given a vehicle.
