About the Humvee
Humvee is a family of light four-wheel drive, military trucks and utility vehicles produced by AM General. It is also known as High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle,
Primarily used by the United States military, the Humvee is also used by numerous other countries and organizations and even in civilian adaptations.
The Humvee seats four people with an available fully enclosed metal cabin with a vertical windshield. The body is constructed from lightweight and rust-resistant aluminium, instead of conventional steel. It has all-wheel drive with an independent suspension and helical gear-reduction hubs.
The Humvee saw widespread use in the Gulf War of 1991, where it navigated the treacherous desert terrain; this usage helped to inspire civilian Hummer versions.
