Take A Look At This Mercedes-Benz S-Class Custom Wagon (Photos)
It is a common practise that flagship sedans don’t ever come in a wagon or estate guise. Well, this particular Mercedes is an exception. This is a custom Mercedes-Benz S-Class wagon done by Caro International, a coachbuilding company based in Hamburg Germany. This is not the latest model or the year before, this is a 1990 model that was used for the project.
Caro international will only build this wagon if good money comes by individuals who desire a classic with a difference. Before we digress more, Caro International is known to specialize in coachbuilding, customized interiors, stretched limousines and armoured vehicles. The company took up the challenge to create this work of art and in honesty the finished work is great.
The coachbuilder took parts from the E-Class (V-Boot) to create the rear end of the vehicle and labelling it T which was the letter used to signify the Wagon variants of Mercedes in the 80s/90s. The S-Class used is the 560SEL which they named 560TEL. As the name suggests, the 560 TEL is based on a W126-chassis Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL long-wheelbase luxury sedan. It is powered by the all-aluminium 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine. The top engine of the W126 S-Class generated up to 275hp and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the rear wheels by a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing is unknown for this one of a kind vehicle but the seller can be contacted. This custom wagon has don just 64,000 miles on the clock and it is still in great condition. The seller described the wagon as “the ultimate in sophistication as a coach-built estate wagon”
