Restored 1975 Mercedes 600 Pullman To Cost ₦800m (Photos)

The Pullman nameplate has been in the Mercedes-Benz history for years. Introduced in 1963, the Mercedes-Benz 600 limousine (called W100 internally) stood proud as one of the most luxurious cars in the world until it retired in 1981. Everyone who thought they were someone in the 1960s and 1970s had one. The likes of heads of state and business tycoons to movie stars and music icons. It was available in a short and long-wheelbase version with an optional 6 doors. The 600 was hand-built and only 2,677 units were produced.
Mercedes-Benz’s Classic division received an unusual request in 2007. An enthusiast from Germany wanted to turn a 1975 600 into a Maybach, and the person had a wallet thick enough to cover the cost of the unprecedented conversion. The company accepted the project and enlisted the help of Daimler engineers when needed.
The Maybach’s 57 and 62 models were its spiritual successors, and both were still in production in 2007, so Classic had a solid foundation to build on. They started by gutting the 600’s interior and replacing the original seats with updated heated and cooled chairs. They also added automatic A/C, front- and rear-facing cameras, Bluetooth connectivity. Other added features include a fridge, a minibar, and a DVD player, among other features.
Powering the Mercedes-Benz 600 is a 6.3-litre V8 producing 250 horsepower that runs through a four-speed automatic gearbox. The models were famous for their complex hydraulic system that handled the operation of the power windows, power seats, sunroof, and other adjustments. This one-of-a-kind creation has covered only 691 miles from new and can be yours for approximately ₦800 million, excluding VAT.
