‘One Chance’ : Police To Impound Vehicles With Tinted Glasses, Covered Number Plates In Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has vowed to impound all vehicles with tinted glasses and covered number plates as part of measures to combat the rising incidents of ‘one chance’ and other criminal activities in the FCT.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who disclosed this during a press conference at the command’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, stated that tinted glasses are contributing to a lot of lawlessness in the country.
He said : “We need to see people in their vehicles. A lot of rescued kidnap victims have told us that the tinted glasses made it impossible for people to know that they were in distress.
“A lot of the criminals, at the same time, cover their number plates. While some of them deliberately refused to put numbers on their vehicles.
CREDICORP/NADDC Kick Off Initial ₦20B Consumer Credit Fund For Purchase Of Locally-Assembled Vehicles
CREDICORP, in partnership with NADDC, has launched the first phase of the ₦20B consumer credit fund aimed at enabling Nigerians to purchase locally-assembled vehicles, while growing Nigeria’s automotive industry.
Nigeria’s leading local automobile manufacturers, including Innoson, NORD, CIG MOTORS (GAC), PAN, MIKANO, Jets, NEV (electric) and DAG were in attendance at the signing event on Thursday December 5th.
NADDC urged Nigerians that are interested in buying a locally-assembled vehicle to visit any participating local automobile assembler to access consumer credit.
NCS Commends New B’Odogwu System, Says Properly Declared Vehicles Can Be Cleared In 2-hours
The Customs Area Controller PTML Command of Nigeria Customs, Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, has urged stakeholders to embrace the newly implemented B’Odogwu customs trading platform.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday 4th December 2024, Daniyan commended the system, describing it as a crucial step forward. He highlighted its potential for enhancing efficiency and revenue generation, despite the teething problems encountered during its rollout.
Stressing the importance of compliance in trade facilitation, Daniyan explained that properly declared vehicles could be processed within two hours, provided declarants adhere to the required procedures.
