President Bola Tinubu welcomed President Bassirou Faye of Senegal to the State House on Thursday, weeks after attending the inauguration of the 44 year old in a ceremony attended by several African leaders.

Speaking during a meeting with the Senegalese President, Tinubu emphasized that democratic governance, democratic values, and constitutional order are sacrosanct and must be protected.

“Constitutional democracy is what Senegal proved to the rest of the world and Africa. It is a joy to have you here; to meet the hope and aspiration of our youths. You fit in perfectly well.

“As the Chairman of ECOWAS, I am inviting you to collaborate and meet those other brothers. To persuade them to come back to the fold,” Tinubu said in a statement.

Like most visiting presidents, Bassirou Faye of Senegal didn’t fly his official vehicle for his visit to Nigeria, so he relied on an armored BMW 7 Series (740 Li) ultra-luxury sedan provided by the Federal Government.

The Li on the badge stands for Long Injected, with the L denoting that the sedan a long wheelbase version of the 5th-generation Inline 6 740i ultra-luxury sedan. The 740Li has more legroom in the backseat, allowing rear passengers like the President of Senegal to enjoy an outstanding level of comfort.
