Toyota Hilux Overturns After Reckless Driver Collided With Oncoming Train In Lagos – No Injuries Recorded
Toyota Hilux driver while reportedly driving recklessly rammed into an oncoming train on Sunday at the Ilupeju bypass.
The impact of the collision upturned the Toyota Hilux truck in between the railway tracks.
No injuries or casualties recorded, according to LASEMA, who attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving.
The recovered Toyota Hilux pickup truck was handed over to the DPO from Elewedu Police Station.

The driver of a Toyota Hilux pickup truck while reportedly driving recklessly rammed into an oncoming train on Sunday July 21st at the Ilupeju bypass in Lagos State.
The impact of the collision upturned the Hilux in between the railway tracks. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were recorded, according the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

A statement by the Head of Public Affairs Unit at LASEMA, Nosa Okunbor, on Sunday July 21st, attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving.

“Upon the 2 minutes record time arrival of the Eagle Team at the incident scene at 1754hrs, it was observed that a Toyota Hilux was involved in an accident with a train.
“Further investigations revealed that the Toyota Hilux, registration number ABJ-632BC, collided with an oncoming train as a result of reckless driving, which resulted to the Hilux upturning in between the railway tracks.

LASEMA further revealed that the accidented Toyota Hilux pickup truck was successfully recovered Agency’s heavy duty equipment – Hiab and handed over to the DPO from Elewedu Police Station.
In attendance at the accident scene were LASEMA Response Team, LASTMA and Officials of the Nigerian Police Force, who collaborated to ensure secondary incidents were averted during the operation.
