Toyota Launches Special Edition Corolla For 2021(Photos)

With the rumours of the Corolla GR gradually becoming a reality, Toyota decided to unveil this Special Edition model. This model will be limited to just 1500 units and will be available only as a 5-door hatchback. As the name suggests, the Special Edition Corolla has some interior and exterior tweaks that will appeal to customers.
For starters, it will be available in only supersonic red and it spots a sportish front and rear bumper. There is also a black roof spoiler and an 18-inch black alloy wheels. All these aesthetics give the Corolla a more aggressive appearance. Some may say that this aesthetics is a test of how the GR model may look like.
Underneath all that is still the regular 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine developing 168hp. It is still a front-wheel-drive and it’s mated with a CVT gearbox or a 6-speed manual. The safety features have been upgraded with Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 suite. These features include the following Pre-Collision System with Daytime/Low-Light Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, plus Daytime Bicyclist Detection. Also included are Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (CVT only), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Sign Assist.
Getting into the interior, you will be greeted by a mixture of red and black. The layout remains unchanged although you can see Special Edition badges in the fit and finishing. The gear shift is leather-wrapped and there’s a paddle shit on the steering (optional on CVT).
