Toyota Corolla Wins Car Of The Year Award

In the spirit of Yuletide, some of the leading auto, lubricants brands in the country bagged several awards, as the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) presented different categories of awards to deserving winners at the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.
During the event,Toyota Corolla won the Car Of The Year (COTY) Award, beating Hyundai Tucson and GAC GS4. Luxury SUV Award of the Year went to Range Rover Autobiography as Mercedes Benz S-Class emerged the Luxury Car of The Year.

While receiving the Car Of The Year Award, the managing director of Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), Kunle Ade-Ojo, thanked the organisers for putting up the award and for recognizing the Toyota Corolla for the COTY award.
Ade-Ojo also promised that the company will continue to uphold the integrity which the company has been known for, while contributing positively for the Nigeria Auto industry.

In his welcome speech, the Chairman of NAJA, Mr Mike Ochonma, disclosed that NAJA award is the most prestigious and only recognised auto award in the country. Ochonma advised stakeholders in the industry to desist from receiving awards from private merchants.
Stressing on NAJA awards being the only recognised award nationally and internationally, the Chairman pin-pointed that the winners were selected based on several exhaustive and objective evaluation of competitors in each of the categories. The award winners were arrived at through members’ votes.
