Scot Burner, a YouTuber, has been awarded a Guinness World Record after driving a 2017 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray in reverse for one mile in 75.18 seconds. He smashed the previous record time of 97.02 seconds set in 2012 by more than 20 seconds.

His YouTube channel — Always in Reverse — features him testing out the reverse-driving capabilities of various vehicles, including Kias, Pontiacs, Mustangs and even an all-electric Tesla.
Scot Burner, 53, said he took on the challenge after discovering the previous record was a time he had already unofficially beaten.

Over three tests, the unmodified Corvette was able to set a best time of 75.18 seconds. According to the NCM, Burner averaged 45 mph (72 km/h), but he reached a top speed of 53 mph (85 km/h).
“We at the NCM Motorsports Park are honored to have had Scot attempt the Guinness World Record for the fastest reverse mile at our track. There is no better place in the world to achieve that honor in a Corvette than at the home of the Corvette,” said Greg Waldron, NCM Motorsports Park Executive Director.
