3,806 vehicles involved in 2,631 road crashes in Nigeria between April-June 2025 – National Bureau of Statistics.

During this period, 1,018 males were killed, which is 79.20% of the total l, while 227 (3.69%) females lost their lives.

In Q1 2025, 2687 commercial vehicles were involved compared to private (1058), government (60) and diplomatic vehicles (1).

A total of 2,631 road traffic crashes were recorded between 1st April and 31st June 2025 (Q2), an increase of 9.44% compared to the 2,404 crashes from the same period in 2024, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

During the same period, NBS data showed that 1,018 males comprising of 986 adults (79.20%) and 32 children (2.57%) were killed, which accounted for 81.77% of the total, while 227 females comprising of 181 adults (14.54%) and 46 children (3.69%) lost their lives.

The report also showed that 8,520 persons were injured during this period. Of the total, 6,629 were male (77.8%) while 1,891 were female (22.19%).

Of the total 2,631 road traffic crashes between April and June 2025, serious cases stood top with 1,728 compared to fatal and minor cases with 636 and 267 respectively.

According to NBS data, 3806 vehicles were involved in road traffic crashes in Q2 2025, led by commercial vehicles and private cars with 2687 (70.6%) and 1058 (27.8%) respectively, while 60 (1.58%) government vehicles and 1 (0.03%) belonging to a Diplomatic was also involved in a crash.
