Volkswagen Gives Each Of Its Employees ₦2 Million Bonus For 2019 Performance
Each of Volkswagen AG’s employees will receive a performance-bonus of 3,259.50 euro (₦1.3 million). The extra cash will be added to their May pay.
€1,690.50 (₦689k), which is part of the total bonus, has been credited to their salary in November 2019.

To show its appreciation for a job well-done in 2019, each of Volkswagen AG’s employees will receive a bonus of €3,259.50 in their May 2020 pay.
According to a statement released by Volkswagen, the applicable employees have already received an additional €1,690.50 with their salary in November 2019.
This takes the total performance-related bonus for year 2019 to €4,950 (₦2 million) gross.
Last year, the auto-giant gifted roughly 100,000 employees a bonus of €4,750 each (₦1.9 million at current rates).
Chief executive of Volkswagen AG Dr. Herbert Diess said.
“The employees of Volkswagen again demonstrated a strong team performance in 2019. They have made a key contribution to the business success of Volkswagen.”
With the bonus under the collective bargaining agreement, we wish to thank them for their commitment and to allow each individual employee to participate in the success of the organisation.”

Chairman of the general works council, Bernd Osterloh, said:
“2019 was another tough year for our colleagues. But once again, they got down to work to bring Volkswagen forward again”
“It is therefore only fair that the employees should now have their share in the organisations’ success. They have earned it.”
HR board member at Volkswagen, Gunnar Kilian, added:
“This bonus reflects the successful year of 2019. For 2020, it is clear that expectations may be more limited.
Volkswagen’s employees won’t be the only one to smile home with extra cash this year.
Mercedes-parent Daimler in February gifted each of its 130,000 employees a bonus of 1097 euros (₦433,000) for their work in 2019. This extra cash will be added to their pay in April.
