SSC will redo Tuatara hypercar’s 330mph top speed record run due to controversies surrounding its onboard video.
This means that Koenisegg Agera remains the official world’s fastest production car.
Koenigsegg Agera achieved a two-run average of 277.9 mph on a closed stretch of Route 160 in Nevada in 2017.
Last month, Washington-based automaker, SSC North America, announced its 1,750 horsepower Tuatara hypercar is now officially the “World’s Fastest Production Car” after a claimed average speed of 316.11 mph over two runs.
But latest developments suggests that the SSC Tuatara is not officially the fastest production vehicle on the planet. This is due to inaccuracies of the onboard video.

Due to the controversies first spotted by YouTube motor gearheads, the record run’s data from Oct. 10 will not be submitted to Guinness World Records.
According to reports, the information from GPS satellites tracking the run can’t be verified; prompting the automaker to schedule a second attempt.
