Italy Customs Seizes Rolls-Royce Phantom Because Of Its Crocodile Skin Interior
Italy Customs and Monopolies Agency seizes Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 because of its crocodile skin interior.
It also appears that the seized Rolls-Royce didn’t have the proper paperworks.
Reports said parties are exploring the possibility of removing the crocodile skin to alleviate the issue.
Crocodiles are a protected species and trading items with crocodile skin is prohibited in several countries.

A Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 that was destined for a company in Rome has been confiscated by Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency because of its crocodile skin interior.
According to the agency’s Instagram page, the Phantom, which was imported from Russia, was found to have customized interior with crocodile skin on the seats, armrests and door panels.
The seizure is expected as crocodiles are a protected species and trading items with crocodile skin is prohibited without “required authorizations”, the Italian officials noted.

In addition to using the skin of a protected specie in the Phantom, it also appears that the seized Rolls-Royce didn’t have the proper paperworks.
However, reports said both parties are exploring the possibility of removing the crocodile skin as this would presumably alleviate the issue.
According to the agency, known as ADM, they’re on high alert for this type of crime as there are “more and more seizures of goods and objects obtained with the use of protected or endangered species”.
Russian tuners are known for offering wealthy customers odd animal skins for their vehicles. Latvian-based tuner Dartz recently sparked international outrage after being involved in the whale penis leather incident.
