China’s Zhiji L7 Electric Car Drifted 43.6-km In 1 Hr 6 Mins, Breaks Guinness World Record
Chinese Zhiji L7 sedan breaks the Guinness World Record for the ‘longest drift in an electric car on a wet surface’.
Zhiji Motor’s official driver Wei Pengda drifted for 1 hr 6 mins, clocking up 258 laps, equivalent to 43.646-km (27.120 miles).
The previous record was set by a Porsche Taycan in August 2020, when it was driven for 55 mins, covering 42.171-km (26.203 miles).

Zhiji L7, a Tesla-killing fully-electric sports sedan from China, is offered in two battery packs.
A 93 kWh with 382 miles (615 km), and a larger 118 kWh pack with a claimed range of 621 miles (1,000 km).
Zhiji L7 has entered the Guinness World Records for the longest drift with an electric car after Zhiji Motors’ official driver, Wei Pengda clocked up 258 laps (equivalent of 43.646 kilometers or 27.120 miles) on a wet surface.
Pengda drifted for 1 hour and 6 minutes, covering 43.646 kilometers, enough to break the previous record set by Porsche official driver Dennis Retera on 27 August 2020, at the Porsche Experience Center in Hockenheim, Germany.
Porsche official driver drove an electric Taycan EV rear-wheel drive version for 55 consecutive minutes, covering 42.171 kilometers (or about 26.203 miles).
