“Ivan Kalita”, one of three versions of Moskvitch 2142 produced by AZLK’s Moskvitch division from 1998 to 2002.
The Moskvitch 2142, originally created for the needs of the Moscow Government, is a line of large family cars produced by AZLK’s Moskvitch division from 1998 to its bankruptcy in 2002.
Three versions of the 2142 were marketed, all aimed at executive and business markets : the Knjaz Vladimir (large family saloon), Ivan Kalita (executive saloon), and the Duet (executive coupé).
The “Ivan Kalita” business-class sedan, based on chassis of “Knyaz Vladimir”, has spacious interior, including features like A.C, electric windows, electric door locks, car radio with CD player, exquisite wood-like dashboard.
Only 3500 Moskvitch 2142 vehicles were produced from 1998 to 2002, and all models were fitted with Renault engines, allowing a maximum speed of 187km/h.
