Russian-made Rolls-Royce Cullinan Rival, Aurus Komendant SUV, Unveiled – Starts At $560,000

Russian-made Rolls-Royce Cullinan rival, the ultra-luxury Aurus Komendant SUV, finally unveiled.
Starts at $560,000. It is even more expensive than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which starts at $351,000.
Komendant SUV joins the Arsenal minivan and the Senat limousine and sedan in Aurus’ expanding lineup.
Production of the Aurus Komendant SUV is scheduled to start early 2023 at the plant in Yelabuga.
A media presentation of the new flagship Aurus Komendant sports utility vehicle (SUV) was held last week in Moscow, Russia, at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNH), formerly known as the All-Russia Exhibition Centre.
Orders for the new Komendant are already being accepted ahead of its appearance in the showrooms of official dealers in Moscow and St. Petersburg early next year.
Named after the Commandant tower of the Kremlin in Moscow, the Komendant SUV joins the Arsenal minivan and the Senat limousine and sedan in Aurus’ expanding lineup.
“Aurus Komendant has been tested under extreme conditions. The car drove in the heat of plus 50 degrees and in the cold minus 40”, said Artem Vasnev, a correspondent of “MIR 24”, who was one of the first to see the SUV.
“It proved to be extremely reliable. This is how an SUV worth more than 33 million rubles should be”.
At 33 million 700 thousand rubles or $559,800 dollars (N242 million excluding local taxes), the high-riding luxury SUV will be affordable only for very wealthy people. It is even more expensive than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which starts at $351,000.
“The heart of our vehicle is the hybrid engine. An electric machine and a V-shaped eight-cylinder engine equipped with two turbines, with a total capacity of 598 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission familiar to Aurus Senat owners,” said Artem Yusupov, Aurus Sales and Service Director.
“We have done a great job during this time. We visited hundreds of suppliers, and found a large number of solutions, today the plant is operating,” said Nikolai Khodasevich, General Director of Aurus.
Production of the Komendant is scheduled to start early 2023 at the plant in Yelabuga, where five thousand cars can be produced a year.
