Man Arrested For Driving ‘Fake Ferrari F430’, Which Is Actually A Toyota MR2 In Disguise
26-year-old man driving fake Ferrari F430 ‘supercar’ with genuine badges arrested by Italian financial police.
Fake Ferrari F430 sports car is actually a Toyota MR2 Coupe that has been converted to look like the sports car.
It had original parts, including rims, brake callipers, front and rear hoods and even genuine Ferrari badges.
Charged after being reported to Public Prosecutor’s Office of Asti for using registered trademarks without authorization.

Last week, the Italian Guardia di Finanza arrested and charged a 26-year-old man for driving a fake Ferrari sports car following a police operation called Operacion Cavallino.
During the routine check in the town of Asti, Italy, the police also seized his fake Ferrari F430 sports car, which is actually a Toyota MR2 Coupe that has been converted to look like the sports car.



The Ferrari F430, which was in production between 2004 and 2009 as a successor to the Ferrari 360, can fetch as much as $207,000 at the current exchange rate.
Local media reports that the fake car had original Ferrari parts, including wheel arches, rims, brake callipers, front and rear hoods and even genuine Ferrari badges.

A spokesperson from the Italian Guardia di Finanza, an Italian law enforcement agency responsible for dealing with financial crime and smuggling, said in a statement:
“The police operation was in coordination with the Asti prosecutor.”
“We aim to protect national production, especially in this case when they stand out for their high quality and for being one of the best known and most appreciated symbols of the Italian style in the world.”
According to Italian media, the man was charged after being reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Asti for using registered trademarks without authorization.
