Pictures : President Buhari Arrives Lagos, Commissions $1.5bn Lekki Deep Seaport
Buhari officially commissions the $1.5 Billion Lekki Deep SeaPort at the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos.
Lekki Deep Seaport is one of five projects that Buhari will commission during his 2-day working visit to Lagos State.
Project was initiated by Bola Tinubu to boost economic development in Lagos and the country in general.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, 23rd January, 2023 officially commissioned the $1.5 Billion Lekki Deep SeaPort at the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos.
The Lekki Deep Seaport is one of five projects that President Muhammadu Buhari will commission within the State during his a 2-day working visit to Lagos State.
According to the Managing Director of National Ports Authority, Mohammed Bello-Koko, the Lekki Deep Seaport is the deepest and most modern port in the country that can accommodate bigger vessels and cargoes.
Dignitaries at the opening ceremony of the Lekki Deep Seaport includes Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi and Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Cui Jian Chun.
The Lekki Deep Seaport project was constructed by China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC). It occupies 90 hectares out of the entire 830 hectares of land reserved for the Lagos Free Zone (LFZ).
The project was initiated by the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to boost economic development in Lagos State and the country in general.
