3rd-gen Panamera to arrive with driver-centred Porsche Driver Experience control concept first seen on the Taycan.

Key feature of the concept is the grouping of the control elements in the immediate vicinity of the steering wheel.

Ahead of its public unveiling on 24 November 2023, Porsche has dropped some interior details of the new 3rd-generation model of the Panamera, including the intuitive driver-centred Porsche Driver Experience control concept first seen on the Taycan.

Integrated into the Panamera’s cabin, the Porsche Driver Experience control concept puts the driver at the centre and creates the perfect balance between analogue and digital elements. It offers a fully digital display, a wide range of customisation options and intuitive operation.

To simplify the operation of the new Panamera in all driving situations, the Porsche Driver Experience control concept features control elements relevant for driving in the immediate vicinity of the steering wheel. This design allows all functions to be quick and intuitive for the driver to access.

For example, the steering wheel now houses the toggle switch for navigating through the options provided by the instrument cluster, and the mode switch for selecting the driving programmes, while the gear selector lever is located directly next to it.

The updated Panamera will also arrive with a curve 12.6-inch display which can display driving information on three areas. In addition, an optional head-up display can be operated directly from the sports steering wheel.

For the first time, the Panamera is equipped with continuous ambient lighting along the entire panel. The executive models will also feature a newly contoured rear seat system, which offers an optimised seating position.

Porsche had earlier announced that the luxury sedan will debut later this month with an updated engine range, four new e-hybrid models, a tweaked version of the PDK transmission plus the 4.0-liter V8 engine option.

“After already offering three E-Hybrids for the second Panamera generation, we will be adding a fourth plug-in hybrid in the new Panamera,” said Dr Thomas Friemuth, head of the Panamera product line.

“This is our response to the enormous demand from our customers. In some countries, the proportion of E-Hybrids in the Panamera is almost 100%.”
