Porsche Taycan Adds A 700 Hp Sporty GTS Model To Its Lineup
The Porsche Taycan, which was renewed at the beginning of this year, is already available in many shapes and flavours, and now there are a few more. From now on, the Porsche Taycan is also available as a sporty GTS, but there is more. For the first time, the four-door Taycan is also available as a 4.
The Porsche Taycan went under the knife in February this year and with that, the starting signal sounded for a step-by-step market introduction of the model. The Taycan is available as before as a four-door ‘Taycan sedan’ and as a five-door Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo. Porsche is now expanding the delivery range of the four-door Taycan and that of the five-door Sport Turismo with the GTS versions.
The renewed Porsche Taycan GTS – when using Launch Control – generates 700 hp and is therefore 102 hp stronger than the GTS variants of the pre-facelift Taycan. Of course, that is not without reason. Practically every version of the Taycan received a considerable amount of extra power on the cutting tables. The Taycan GTS also has a so-called Push-to-Pass mode in which the electric motors deliver an extra 95 hp for 10 seconds to overtake a car in front – who is driving as far away from you as possible. Imagine you are in such a hurry that 700 hp is not enough.
The Taycan GTS Sedan and Taycan GTS sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. This makes them 0.4 seconds faster on the 0-100 sprint than the pre-facelift GTSs. The Taycan GTS Sedan reaches 200 km/h in 10.4 seconds, 1.6 seconds faster than before. The range of the Taycan GTS is set at 628 kilometres. From the outside, you can recognize the GTS variants again by the extensive range of black and anthracite grey details. The Sport Design front and rear spoilers are new. The ‘sticks’ of the side mirrors are also finished in black. 20-inch Turbo Aero wheels are standard, and 21-inch RS Spyder Design tyres are optional.
Taycan 4
The facelifted Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo was already available as a ‘4’ and from now on the Taycan Sedan 4 is also available. The Taycan Sedan was not previously available as a 4 but as a 4S. The Porsche Taycan 4 is, just like the simply called ‘Taycan’ rear-wheel drive variant, 408 hp in the base. If you switch on the Launch Control mode, you will have 435 hp at your disposal for a short time. With a Performance Battery, the Taycan 4 has a range of 559 kilometres to its name. With the optional Performance Battery Plus, you have a range of 643 kilometres. The Porsche Taycan 4 completes the 0-100 sprint in 4.6 seconds. This makes it – despite its 80 kilos higher vehicle weight – 0.2 faster than the rear-wheel drive version.
Prices
The Porsche Taycan 4 costs €111,100. For the Porsche Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sports Tourer, you will pay €154,900 and €155,900 respectively.
