Ford is expanding the Mustang lineup with a four-door sedan, the Mustang Mach 4. Recent reports confirm it has transitioned from a design concept to a physical prototype, featuring hybrid electrification that pairs a V8 engine with advanced performance capabilities.
Ford unveiled a Mustang Mach 4 prototype in Las Vegas featuring a hybrid V8 powertrain, a sub-$40,000 price point, and a 0-60 mph time under 4 seconds. Comparable to a Porsche Panamera, this four-door model combines traditional muscle car character with modern emissions compliance.
The Mach 4 may use a stretched Mustang chassis to reduce R&D costs, with a footprint similar to the Porsche Panamera. Expected by the end of the decade, the four-door model aims to boost declining Mustang sales. It faces competition from the upcoming four-door Camaro and the already-available Dodge Charger.
