Honda has taken a significant step into the future of electric mobility by unveiling prototypes in its new 0 Series lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The two vehicles, the Honda 0 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and the Honda 0 Saloon, showcase Honda’s innovative approach to electric vehicle (EV) design and technology. Production versions of these prototypes are expected to arrive in North America in 2026, followed by releases for other markets such as Europe and Japan.

But Honda’s announcements go beyond the vehicles themselves, introducing groundbreaking technology like its ASIMO operating system and cutting-edge energy solutions that promise to redefine the EV experience.

The Honda 0 SUV is a midsize electric vehicle built on Honda’s newly developed EV architecture. Inspired by last year’s Space Hub concept, this model emphasizes a “thin, light, and smart” design approach. The result is a spacious cabin with excellent visibility and a versatile interior layout.

ASIMO Operating System

Inside, Honda envisions the SUV as more than just a mode of transportation—it’s a “space” where occupants can relax, work or connect. The advanced ASIMO operating system enhances this vision by enabling a highly personalized digital user experience. From customizable cabin settings to ultra-responsive controls, the SUV prototype is tailored to meet the needs of individual users.

In addition, the SUV introduces next-generation technology such as the steer-by-wire system. This innovative setup integrates control over the steering, suspension, and braking systems, resulting in precise handling and improved driving dynamics.

Production of the Honda 0 SUV will begin at Honda’s Ohio facility, with the first units arriving in the North American market in the first half of 2026. Shortly thereafter, the SUV will debut in Europe and Japan.

On the other hand, the Honda 0 Saloon is the flagship model of the 0 Series line, a vehicle that combines sporty aesthetics with cutting-edge technology. Despite its low profile, the Saloon surprises with a spacious interior designed for comfort and functionality.

Like the SUV, the Honda 0 Saloon incorporates the ASIMO operating system, providing personalized features and advanced driver assistance capabilities. It also showcases Honda’s advancements in automated driving technology, including a Level 3 autonomous driving feature that allows drivers to focus on other activities, such as watching a movie or participating in virtual meetings.

Honda o Saloon Production

Production of the Honda 0 Saloon is scheduled to begin in late 2026, with an initial launch in North America before sales expand to other markets.

That’s all the details for now. According to previous announcements, the 0 Series battery should be six percent thinner than those in Honda’s current electric vehicles, while the overall weight should be about 100 kg less. A range of over 300 miles (483 km) for the Saloon was also mentioned.

Honda’s ASIMO operating system is the digital brain behind the 0 Series. Named after the humanoid robot introduced in 2000, the ASIMO operating system is a testament to Honda’s long-standing commitment to innovation and robotics. The system integrates and manages vehicle functions, from automated driving to in-car entertainment, while enabling continuous improvements through over-the-air software updates.

Building on the technology used in the original ASIMO robot, Honda has created a platform that can learn, adapt, and provide a personalized experience for each driver. This includes features such as dynamic vehicle controls and a user interface that evolves based on individual preferences.

Honda also announced plans to establish a robust charging network in North America, in collaboration with other automakers, with at least 30,000 charging stations by 2030.

Honda also plans to adopt the North American charging standard for its 0 Series models, ensuring seamless access to a growing network of over 100,000 chargers.

With the 0 Series, Honda is not just launching electric vehicles—it is redefining what it means to own and drive one. From the sophisticated ASIMO operating system to visionary energy solutions, the Honda 0 Series is designed to offer more than mobility. It is a step towards a sustainable, connected, and smarter future.
