Range Rover And Jaguar Electric Car Launches Are Delayed?
More than 60,000 people are reportedly interested in the first all-electric Range Rover, as Jaguar bets its future on an all-new all-electric range. However, buyers of both brands will likely have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the cars. A new report claims JLR is delaying production of those cars amid other issues.
Jaguar Land Rover Group plans to cut up to 500 managerial jobs in the UK. Additionally, tariffs are having a significant impact on the company. And it’s no secret that sales are falling as a result of all the changes happening inside and outside of brands. Other than that, it appears that things have just worsened for potential clients.
A new report says that Jaguar Land Rover is delaying the launch of the Range Rover EV and two electric Jaguars. Previously, JLR targeted the launch of its electric SUV as late as 2024, while production of Jaguar’s EV models was supposed to begin by mid-2026. Those dates have been pushed back as the company waits to allow “more testing and for demand to grow,” the Guardian reports.
A company spokesperson told the newspaper that “by 2030, JLR will sell electric versions of all its luxury brands. Our plans and vehicle architecture are flexible, so we can adapt to different markets and customer demands. We are committed to the highest standards of design, capability, and quality and will launch our new models at the right time for our customers, our business and individual markets.”
