Delivery Of The Energy Storage System That Ford Is Creating Will Begin In 2028
The subsidiary of the American car manufacturer Ford Motor, called “Ford Energy”, announced that it has reached an agreement with the company “EDF Power Solutions North America” to develop a battery energy storage system with a capacity of up to 20 gigawatt hours.
As stated in the company’s announcement, deliveries under the agreement are expected to start in 2028, CNBC reported.
President of Ford Energy, Lisa Drake, stated that this contract confirms the company’s long-term strategy in the energy storage sector.
“We will provide the predictable quality and long-term operational security required by power grid operators and large investors,” she stated.
The Swiss bank UBS estimated that investors could react positively to this news, given the growing interest in Ford’s business in the field of energy storage.
Shares of the Ford Motor Company last week rose by 20 percent in just two days, after increased market interest in the American company’s entry into the energy storage sector.
