Legendary Lexus LFA Is Back As An Electric Hypercar - autojosh

The all-electric successor to the Lexus LFA made its quiet debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, signaling a new era for the iconic supercar.

Lexus has previewed an all-electric successor to the LFA, marking a shift from the original V10 to a new EV platform featuring advanced solid-state battery technology.

The upcoming electric Lexus LFA will be the brand’s first vehicle to feature advanced solid-state batteries, offering superior energy density in a compact form. Designer Shogo Kasamatsu noted that the concept’s restrained, function-first aesthetic aims to redefine high-performance EVs by moving beyond current design trends.

LFA program manager Yukihiro Yukita noted that while demand for high-end electric supercars is currently low, Lexus is committed to leading the industry’s transition from combustion engines to an electric future.

Lexus rejects artificial engine sounds for its upcoming electric supercar, choosing instead to curate the natural acoustics of the electric powertrain. By refining inherent motor sounds rather than mimicking combustion engines, Lexus aims for an authentic driving experience that highlights the responsiveness and linearity of its new EV platform, though whether it can match the thrill of the original V10 LFA remains to be seen.
