Refreshed Mercedes-Maybach GLS Set To Arrive Soon
After the facelifted Mercedes GLS that was shown on March 31, its Maybach variant will soon appear.
The German manufacturer announced it with a short video revealing the characteristic headlights of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
The GLS has an illuminated grille surround and integrated star motifs in the headlights, which are topped by thin LED daytime running lights. There’s also an illuminated Maybach logo that sits below the illuminated Mercedes-Benz logo, which will be “available shortly after market launch”.
Mercedes hasn’t announced exactly when it will unveil the Maybach GLS, but the luxury SUV is expected to debut by the end of the summer.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS will benefit from many of the upgrades the manufacturer has made to the regular model. The cabin is likely to feature the MBUX Superscreen, which includes three 12.3-inch displays and gives the SUV the latest infotainment software from the manufacturer.
There’s also the MBUX Virtual Assistant, which can conduct complex multi-part dialogues, while expressive avatars allow for more personal interaction.
The Maybach GLS is expected to feature an upgraded version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, likely exceeding the standard model’s 537 hp and 750 Nm of torque. As Mercedes’ flagship SUV, it prioritizes unparalleled comfort and space. With a 5,207 mm length and 3,135 mm wheelbase, the interior offers first-class accommodation for up to seven passengers, featuring fully electric seating across all three rows.
The E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL system delivers superior comfort and agility using 20+ sensors and five processors to adjust suspension 1,000 times per second. By independently regulating each wheel, it eliminates body roll, pitch, and lift while offering versatile modes ranging from limousine luxury to sporty handling.
The system is based on the AIRMATIC air suspension and provides comprehensive control that maintains a constant level of the vehicle, regardless of the load. At the same time, it allows the vehicle to be raised or lowered as needed, thereby changing the ground clearance. Different levels can also be selected in special off-road driving modes.
Also, AIRMATIC provides a modern, well-balanced driving experience, with a firmer and sportier setup than before, while still providing a high level of comfort.
