North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Crosses New China Border Bridge In Armoured Mercedes-Maybach LimousineNorth Korean leader Kim Jong Un has crossed into China through the newly opened New Yalu River Bridge in his armoured Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard during a rare one-day visit that included a tour of an automobile factory and meetings with senior Chinese officials.

Footage circulating online shows Kim, under heavy security, walking across the newly opened bridge, which connects North Korea’s Sinuiju with the Chinese border city of Dandong, before completing his trip to China on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in his limousine.

During the visit, Kim met Wang Huning, China’s fourth-highest-ranking official, who conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s “cordial greetings and best wishes” to the North Korean leader, according to Al Jazeera.

Kim’s visit came about a week after the cross-border bridge was officially opened, 12 years after the four-lane structure was completed in 2014. However, one of the highlights of his visit was his head-turning Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard.

Measuring roughly 21.3 feet (6.5 meters) long, Kim’s stretched Pullman limousine features ultra-luxurious, face-to-face rear club lounge configuration separated from the driver by an electronic glass partition.

Kim’s armoured Mercedes-Maybach limousines attracted international attention in 2019 after investigations traced the complicated shipping routes used to deliver the vehicles to North Korea despite international sanctions restricting luxury-goods exports.

The North Korean leader’s last known visit to China was in September 2025, when he travelled in his Russian-made Aurus L700 limousine, gifted to him by Russian President Vladimir Putin, to attend the 80th anniversary of China’s Victory Day celebrations in Beijing.
