Emirati businessman and Al Habtoor Group founder, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, has promised to reward every player and support staff member of the Egyptian national team with a Mitsubishi car for their stellar performance in the recently concluded World Cup.

While celebrating the team’s historic achievement following their knockout in the Round of 16 by Argentina, the Emirati billionaire said their achievement was not only Egypt’s but a source of pride for every Arab, adding:

“Egypt’s joy today is the joy of every Arab. What this team has accomplished deserves all appreciation, and it is our duty to celebrate those who raise the Arab flag high in international arenas. I wish them continued success and achievements befitting Egypt’s name and stature,” Al Habtoor wrote in a post on X.

Although the specific model to be presented wasn’t mentioned in the X post, an Al Habtoor Group spokesperson confirmed to The National it is the Eclipse Cross SUV, adding they were being readied to be shipped for delivery.

Mr. Khalaf Al Habtoor emphasized that the car gift is an expression of his love and appreciation for the Egyptian heroes who honored their country, delighted their fans, and gave every Arab a lesson in determination, perseverance, and fighting spirit.

“You have proven that faith, teamwork, and fighting until the final whistle are values ​​that create achievements. The future is ahead of you, and what you have presented in this World Cup confirms that Egyptian football is capable of achieving more successes.”

According to Al Habtoor’s post on X, the initiative includes all members of the delegation—from players to technical, administrative, and medical staff—in recognition of their efforts in the recently concluded World Cup.
