All-new Roofless Mercedes‑AMG PureSpeed Concept Previews First Model In The Mythos Series

All-new Mercedes‑AMG PureSpeed Concept is roofless and windowless sports car inspired by the AMG ONE hypercar.
Mercedes-Benz says that the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed previews the first model in the highly limited Mythos series.
Production version will be limited to 250 units and only be available to the most dedicated Mercedes enthusiasts and collectors.
The all-new SL-based Mercedes‑AMG PureSpeed concept has made its world premiere on the sidelines of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix on a floating pontoon in the harbour of the principality.
Inspired by the F1-inspired Mercedes‑AMG ONE hypercar, Mercedes-Benz says that the two-seater roofless and windowless roadster provides a preview of the first model in the highly limited Mercedes-Benz Mythos series.
“Radically open, neither a roof nor the windscreen separate the two passengers from the elements. You can experience light, air and passion unfiltered with all your senses.
“As the concept of our first Mythos vehicle, it embodies the highest level of exclusivity. Design elements such as the HALO also create a Formula 1 feeling. There is therefore no better place for its world premiere than Monaco.”
According to Mercedes-Benz, the production version of the Mercedes‑AMG PureSpeed concept will be strictly limited to 250 units and only be available to the most dedicated Mercedes enthusiasts and collectors.
One highlight of the roofless PureSpeed concept is the HALO system, which replaces the conventional A-pillar on the vehicle. This safety system, which has been part of every Formula 1 car since 2018, protects the driver’s head in the event of an accident.
Many other design details also pay homage to motorsport, including its two flying buttresses behind the seats, which are reminiscent of legendary racing cars such as the 300 SLR.
In addition, the eye-catching paintwork from Le Mans red to graphite grey with a black AMG pattern hints on the colour scheme of the victorious Mercedes car at the 1924 Targa Florio race in Sicily.
