Sanwo-Olu says ANPR and TMS devices captured 26,816 real-time traffic violations between January 2023 and March 2024.

He also noted that since the inception of his administration, the ANPR Camera has recorded 856,680 violations.

53 ANPR cameras reportedly installed at different locations in the state to help carry out daily monitoring routine checks.

The Lagos State Government says that the recently introduced Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices alongside Automatic Number Plate Recognition Cameras (ANPR) captured 26,816 real-time traffic violations between January 2023 and March 2024.

Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known on Tuesday May 28th 2024 during the launch of the Lagos State Transport Policy held at the Sheraton, Ikeja.

Speaking through the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu averred that the government has enhanced traffic management and enforcement by deploying TMS devices alongside ANPR.

He also noted since the inception of his administration, the ANPR Camera has recorded 856,680 violations, minimising human intervention in traffic management and substantially curbing traffic violations and accidents.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, had earlier disclosed that 53 ANPR cameras were installed at different locations in the state to help carry out daily monitoring routine checks for prescribed particulars violations.

Speaking during the 2024 Ministerial Press Briefing in April, Mr. Osiyemi said :

“Daily monitoring routine checks
through the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology for prescribed particulars violations, 53 of the ANPR cameras are installed at different locations of the state.





Speaking further, he also revealed that traffic officers made use of hand-held devices for enforcement of regulations on rickety vehicles, overloaded vehicles, blacklisted vehicles, unauthorised/illegal and unregistered vehicles.
